Curious to hear from library workers:

Do you think it's okay to leave a couple zines at the library?

If so, what's the best way to leave them so someone might pick them up but not disrupt the work of the library?

Are there any ways they shouldn't be left out? (Don't shelve them, put them in books, etc.)

Are there any types of zines you'd be excited to find in the library you work in?

For the purposes of this, assume there's no local zine collection or zine library.

If the answer isn’t absolutely obvious and clear (like a sharing point as described in the previous comment), you should really ask either at the desk or through their other points of contact before sharing your zines in the library spaces.
I understand and appreciate your eagerness to share the zines, but no, it is not okay to just leave *anything* at the library.

I appreciate your input

@marz Thank you 🤩
As a follow-up, I would say that when I had a impact on the choices made to set up the spaces, depending on the community’s needs, I did create sharing spaces where zines would have been absolutely welcome.
That is exactly why I advise to talk to the librarians. We like knowing our community’s needs and wishes. It help us doing what we like the best we can with the context and ressources we have.
