klu9#OTD Toussaint Louverture was born into slavery in Cap-Français (now Cap-Haïtien) in Saint-Domingue (now Haïti / Ayiti).
He helped lead a revolution that won independence & ended slavery, defeating forces from the empires of France, Britain & Spain in the process.
