While recovering from back surgery and in between still being a father, day job and what I could manage for TubesZB. I’ve been working on integrating some lifepoe4 batteries into my home energy solution. I had a ~16 kWh solar system with a powerwall 3 installed last year. My electric costs are now rising and even when getting credit for energy exported to the grid I still get tagged for supply costs. So let’s minimize those! The last few days have been harder wind AC in use…. #homeassistant
#homeassistant I’m pretty happy with the first iteration, the project started with an Ecoflow delta 3 plus and the Wattcycle extra battery cable.. then spiraled into 2x Wattcycle 48v 100ah server rack batteries, a plugin Ecoflow Stream Micro inverter using a new dedicated 20 amp circuit. bus bars and multiple 48V charger. then I discovered that the plugin inverter was making the 2 “Legs" of my circuit panel quite unbalanced....
#homeassistant So I got a 2nd Ecoflow Stream Micro Inverter (and a may have used a mail forwarding service since they were only shipping these to Utah) installed another 20 amp circuit on the other “Leg” and now we have symmetry 😂.
#homeassistant I'm now starting to automate the inverter pwoer via this custom component: https://github.com/MarcelWepper/Inverter-Controller tonight is the first real test. The todo list is long still. as I also have 4x Redodo 12V 300AH batteries to integrate (I moved all these things into place pre surgery!) they are currently sitting in parallel to equalize charge while I wait for an H12 battery equalizer to arrive.

#homeassistant As part of integrating the 4S 12V batteries, I plan to tear down the server rack and rebuild with appropriate sized dc circuit breakers on every MPPT input of the micro inverters. this is on top of the fuses and smart shunt going on the 4S 12Vs. further down the road I want to integrate a few more solar panels mounted to the side of my shed with some variable tilt, to supplement the charging of the soon to be a nearly 26kWh battery system ! @tubeszb this is all so cool to see! thanks for posting about it
