If you're "too big for condoms", you're too big for vaginas. - Lemmy.World

Condoms are designed to adapt to the vast majority of penis sizes, and there are specific sizes that are meant to fit the bigger ones. If you don’t fit into those, you will likely have a lot of trouble fitting into a vagina in the first place. Condoms might feel tighter on you if you’re bigger, but the vast majority of the time they should work as intended. Don’t use your size as an excuse to not use protection. There are condoms made for you that you can get if you put the effort in.

Pro-Tip:

Guys buy “slim” condoms thinking the wall of the condom is thinner and therefore more comfortable.

They are smaller condoms for skinny dicks. If your slim condom pinches, buy bigger condoms.

I mean they come in different sizes and manufacturers know all the sizes humans come in, so if you feel you cannot fit into a condom, go to the store and buy a bigger one. If that doesn’t work, great news - you can get a 10000 dollar reward (I can’t remember how much exactly) for sending proof of your abnormally large penis to scientists

Lube, lube, lube, lube! If you have a penis with some girth to it, learn to use lube. A high quality lube is your friend.

Also, penis length is not the question here. You might think you are average sized or might even think you are on the small side because you judged yourself with a ruler. That’s incorrect. If your dick has the dimensions of a can of soda, you are going to tear some shit up without lube.

On the flip side, there are some guys who are like my current partner, who are wearing condoms smaller than ideal because he didn’t think of himself as being larger than average. Standard size condoms mostly worked fine, albeit with a slightly greater rate of mishaps than I’m used to. However, the way the condom kept trying to roll itself back up reminded me of what happens to the waistband of a too-small pair of tights.

This is somewhat tangential to OP’s point, which seems to be aimed more at guys who are just reaching for an excuse to not have to wear a condom. If you’re a reasonable partner who cares about both your partner’s and your own health and thus accepts the necessary inconvenience of using condoms without making excuses to try to avoid it, then OP’s post is not aimed at you. My comment might be though.

Specifically, I want to suggest that anyone who has only ever worn standard size condoms should try buying condoms in the size above and below the standard size. Before you try a new size condom with a partner, make sure to see how the condom fits in a solo session first, and check that it passes a basic check of how it fits and that it doesn’t come loose.

I suggest this because my guy relayed that he reckoned that he didn’t realise he’d not been wearing the optimal size condom because he had internalised the fact that condoms were just expected to be mildly uncomfortable and inconvenient, and he didn’t have any more calibration data beyond his own experience with standard fit condoms. Just try a few different sizes so you can get a sense of what it’s meant to feel like.

(a friend of mine only realised he’d been wearing the wrong size when he slept with a man for the first time after coming out as bi. Apparently he was mildly indignant at being told by his hookup that he was wearing the wrong size (not because of feeling insulted at any size implications, more just like “you think you know my own dick better than I do?”. Apparently the guy replied something quippy along the lines of “I haven’t yet had nearly enough time to get acquainted with your dick. However, I’ve seen enough dick in my life that my arsehole might as well be a set of vernier calipers, and I’m telling you, you’re wearing the wrong size condom”. Sure enough, “the Vernier calipers of Camden cocks” wasn’t wrong. I may have learned more about my friends dick than I ever expected to, but it’s a funny story")
