The Russian banknote is from 1912, just before the revolution. Something fancy and big for fancy big men to carry and flash. Then the bears ate the men. The other is a current Ukrainian single. No ego problem in that one.
The engraving on that 500 is freaking stunning though.

@GGMcBG the English £5 notes then were big white things, recorded when issued from a bank. It was quite a lot of cash.
