The systemd project has announced that to comply with Canada's proposed Bill C-22, systemd will incorporate a mechanism to automatically install the government's public key into the `authorized_keys` configuration of every sshd server.

"It's not about politics in software, it's about ensuring the safety of our children," said Lennart Poettering's Claude agent. "Complying in advance is something we must do, as it allows us to get ahead of You have reached the monthly limit of your Max 20x plan. Click here to purchase more usage credits."

@AmyZenunim Can't find a source for this, but... ye gods, "think of the children" rears its ugly head yet again. 🔥

@woozle full disclosure: this is satire

however, it is true that Poettering has invoked "think of the children" and complied in advance with unjust laws, and is a prolific claude abuser

@woozle don't get comfortable. this may soon come to pass
@AmyZenunim Yeah. -.-

@woozle @AmyZenunim

while we're all here, what distros are systemD-free, I only know of Peppermint OS, and its latest version is still in development.

@Sassinake @woozle @AmyZenunim Guix and Alpine are the only 2 I've used. Alpine is great for lightweight servers, Guix is unlike anything else (except Nix). I'm strongly considering switching back to Guix

@tarix29 @woozle @AmyZenunim

I found there's a full distro called Devuan.

Might give it a shot, once I figure out Boxes properly

@Sassinake @woozle @AmyZenunim just a warning, Devuan has been praised by Brian Lunduke for being "anti-woke." I can't seem to find any political statements from Devuan maintainers but it's a huge red flag for me. You might be interested in AntiX, which is also Debian-based but explicitly anti-fascist
@tarix29 @Sassinake @woozle @AmyZenunim I'm hanging out in Devuan channels, and mentioning Lunduke there gets you a warning, and a ban eventually. Unfortunately you can't do much against Lunduke talking nonsense in the first place. - About Devuan, it's a Debian shim, Debian minus systemd, with 99.x% of the packages identical to Debian. So not a big jump if you are familiar with Debian.
