Found this old gem from when I was still learning to make music from found sounds, by turning them into instrument-like sounds.

This is something I would really like to get into again, but it was also extremely time consuming to chop and edit the recordings, before you could even start making music.

I do love the magic of doing this though. You never know when a falling rock, makes just the funky rhythm you need to get startet or how you’ll be able to make tones.

Here is an example of creating a melodic sound from a stick/branch sound.

In this particular case you can hear the stick sound in the beginning making just a slight ringing sound. This sound is being stretched x amount of times with Paul Stretch and after that I’m isolating the different harmonics with Pro Q3 to get individual notes, which then becomes some kind of scale to start with.
