Right now, I'm going through my list of registered accounts to delete data from services I don't use anymore. It's been a frustrating experience; every site handles deletion differently, often making it nearly impossible. Some don't even allow direct deletion, forcing me to send emails and wait.

Deleting accounts shouldn’t be a bureaucratic nightmare. We own our data and identity.

Imagine a universal standard: url/delete-account/user&data. One simple endpoint for all. This would optimize mass deletion and put users back in control.

This would make it possible to delete accounts directly within the browser itself. Example: a dedicated "Delete Account" button right next to your saved passwords. No more hunting through menus or sending emails. Just one click to wipe your footprint.

It would facilitate so much!

For those struggling, I found this site that helps a lot: https://justdeleteme.xyz/

It provides direct links to deletion pages for many services. However, even with this tool, it remains difficult to do manually for some stubborn sites. They hide the button, disable it, or demand excessive info.

The process is still too fragmented and user-hostile.

We need a shift in how platforms treat user departure. Leaving should be as easy as joining.

Shouldn't it be this easy? A standardized, solution where we can manage and delete our digital presence effortlessly.

Let's push for a future where our data rights are respected by design, not by bureaucratic struggle.
