Senior Emirati scholar Abdulkhaleq Abdulla described Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a “war criminal” and denied claims that Netanyahu secretly visited the UAE in March.
Netanyahu’s office said the visit took place during the US-Israeli war on Iran, but the UAE foreign ministry rejected the claim, stressing that relations with Israel occur only within the publicly declared normalisation deals.
According to Israeli and Arab sources, a meeting between Netanyahu and UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan took place on 26 March in the city of Al-Ain, with flight tracking data showing Israeli business jets traveling between Tel Aviv and Al-Ain that day.
The visit discussed growing military cooperation between the UAE and Israel during the Iran war.
