Cisco is doing another round of layoffs, and their announcement reads like parody.
From their blog:

"Today we announced our Q3 FY26 earnings with record revenue of $15.8 billion, up 12 percent year over year, and double-digit top and bottom-line growth. The ELT and I could not be prouder of the growth you have all delivered for Cisco..."

Then, a few lines down:

"With this, we are making changes today that will result in the reduction of our overall workforce in Q4..."

Cisco Blogs

"To those leaving Cisco," CEO Chuck Robbins continues-- as if they have chosen to leave the company on their own-- "thank you for your contribution, your dedication, and the mark you have made on this company."

A more honest version of this blog post would be:

"Dear employees: thanks for making me a record-breaking amount of money. Since I no longer need you: go fuck yourselves. Die in squalor, you filthy little peasants. AI is the future and I never thought of any of you as human." -Chucky

@Haste Funny how, in job interviews, they tell you not to tell the company that the reason why you 'want to work for them' is the money, but that's entirely the reason they employ you .

@UkeleleEric ain’t that some bullshit? The system is asymmetric by design.

I also used to hear that you shouldn’t tell them the reason you left your last job was a layoff in case they interpreted that as low performance. With every company on earth doing it I wonder if that’s still true.

@Haste @UkeleleEric I think getting laid off and have a 6 month employment gap is likely the norm for 2026.
