I'm going to go out on a limb and say white colored hiking boots are probably a bad idea. #hiking

Hmm, not white... "Safari/Birch" 🤔

Depends on how far into "dingy white" it already is, otherwise, it will get dingy white very quickly.

#hiking #boots

I suppose they might be "hiking lifestyle" shoes, it's at REI, *implying* you are into hiking but not designed for use on the trail. Much like SUVs and Jeeps have become a "lifestyle brand" even if they'll never go on a 4x4 trail, too.
@ai6yr So you're saying that when a shoe is advertised as a "hiker" and looks like a hiker but only has front wheel drive, it's a lifestyle shoe?
@msbellows I once rode to a dirt road trailhead backpacking in someone's Suburban, which had low rider rims, LOL. It got stuck and he ruined his fancy rims.
@ai6yr Just getting to the trailhead???
@msbellows LOL yeah, his fancy rims couldn't handle the gravel road and ruts
@msbellows Similar to this... Fancy rims, very little sidewall tires lol NOT RECOMMENDED FOR 4X4
@ai6yr @msbellows aka Mall Crawler/Pavement Queen.

@david @ai6yr reminds me of the time decades ago when I was at an auto upholstery place near Beverly Hills getting something minor done to my car and noticed a brand new, top of the line, totally tricked out Range Rover parked in front. Asked the guy why a brand new car would need upholstery. Him: a specific musician had it driven directly from the dealer to the upholstery shop to have all the leather upholstery replaced with a different color he liked better.

This answers the question, "Did hip hop artists back in the day have money to burn?"

@ai6yr @msbellows @david I used to haunt a car stereo business and got to know the owner. He was blown away by all of the LA kids getting a Lexus or Benz or whatever as a gift from their parents, then showing up at his place to get a custom stereo rig. He had an area where they literally reconstructed interiors to fit the speakers the gifted wanted. They'd drop thousands of dollars on the car's stereo alone. Some people have all the bucks to burn at 20.
@steter @ai6yr @david And every single one of them grew up to be an assferret.
@msbellows @steter @david It really is sad how that works. I know a few people--nice guys--,who grew up with very modest backgrounds, but then made a lot of money, and then got married and had kids who were buying sports cars at 16 and parents money funding cocaine in high school, and the kids turned out absolutely rotten. Too easy money too early in an environment where money is the currency can (but doesn't always) turns kids into a**ferrets. One person I know (in Silicon Valley) bemoaned that kids were looking up other kids' net worth and choosing their friends based on that. 🤢
@ai6yr @steter @david It's okay: you don't need to censor the word "assferrets" because they're actually a lab-created cross between a donkey and a close relative of the weasel.
@msbellows @steter @david LOL Hard habit to break, I grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. Gosh darn it! Gee whiz.
@ai6yr @steter @david Darn you! Darn you to Heck!

@msbellows @steter @david

Well, I already have been consigned to H-E-double-toothpicks because my parents drank coffee as a kid. A kid broke my glasses and gave me a bloody nose because of that one. How many of YOU have gotten in a fight over your parent's coffee drinking habits?!?!

@ai6yr @msbellows @steter @david that sounds like a very Utah-esque situation
