Mark Maki, the president and CEO of Trans Mountain, and Elizabeth Wademan, who heads up the Canada Development Investment Corp, spoke at a Canadian Club luncheon while making a case for the Trans Mountain pipeline to remain as a property of the Canadian government.

“Wademan says there’s a case for the federal government to be a long-term holder in the Trans Mountain pipeline and she ‘personally would love to see it owned by Canadians.’”

In other words, it’s a white elephant no private groups want to waste their money on so Canadian taxpayers are stuck with it.

“Maki said there’s ‘no question’ Canadian taxpayers will see the investment [$34 billion] repaid.”

Does she think Trump’s war with Iran is going to last a very long time?

@Sanderde

What's the procedure for getting Ottawa to own my laundromat for good?

@oldclumsy_nowmad

Specialize in cleaning niche fabrics, go into debt then request a government bailout which they will respond with a buyout offer well over market price.

@Sanderde

Sounds good! Except, it doesn't work for little guys, does it? Got to have something to "grease the wheels", if you know what I mean.

At least, that's the way it works down here in the big toilet.
