Rep. Ro Khanna nails why we're all so frustrated and angry.
@georgetakei Listen to Netanyahu and tried to silence Zelenzky. What a total failure
@georgetakei Yeah, and when it's not Netanyahu, it's Putin calling the shots.

@georgetakei my frustration has nothing to do with netanyahu.

as a Jewish American I'm pretty much never going to be okay with someone saying that the real problem is with the Jews secretly pulling the strings. I am vehemently against the current Israeli government - but I think this is the wrong take, and approaches ACTUAL antisemitism*.

*as opposed to the BS whining that any criticism of the netanyahu government must be anti-semitic.

@Amoshias @georgetakei you mentioned โ€œthe Jewsโ€. You used the word โ€œsecretlyโ€.

Itโ€™s clear Trump is being influenced by Netanyahu just as itโ€™s clear he is being influenced by Putin.

If we canโ€™t admit that Trump is being influenced by foreign actors without immediately trying to call out imaginary antisemitism then what is even the point.

@schwa @Amoshias @georgetakei

There doesn't seem to be any disagreement about Trump being influenced by Netanhayhu.

I think it's quite reasonable to be incensed by the assertion that the entire foreign policy of Trump is written by Netanyahu.

Trump and his christian white nationalist advisors generate horrid policy independently. He's also heavily influenced by other dictators, especially Netanyahu.

By all reports, that seems to be because his aides are helping Netanyahu influence him.

@psa @schwa "all Trump did is listen to netanyahu."

I think what you're saying is very reasonable and reflects the facts. but that's not what appears in the original statement.

@georgetakei
So, it's the the Jews (as in Netanjahu and Israel) all over again?
White supremacy doesn't need that. Stop making Israel, netanjahu and his bloody politics scapegoats for your own us-american failures.
There may be similarities, but trump is an a-hole on his own.
@Lamal @georgetakei yeah just let genociders genocide their apartheid state. The state of Israel is not a religion, being critical of Israel is not antisemitism You are not the victim #freepalestine
@woodenmachines
Right. Being critical of Israel and their current regime does not need to be antisemitic.
Being "critical" in a way that uses the obviously antisemitic trope of Israel/Netanjahu as a puppet-player that more or less secretly controls other countries governments hardly ain't _not_ antisemitic.
@georgetakei
@Lamal @georgetakei and how would you describe BBโ€™s โ€œtalksโ€ with Trump? He has tried talking American presidents into invading Iran before. Every peace deal ends with Israel blowing up something? Were the pager bombs not meant to control the narrative. Perhaps Israel is openly trying to control other countries while trying to hide behind the narrative of antisemitism. The stringing along of American #evangelicals is about control, they brought us Trump, twice
@woodenmachines
I'd say Trump and Netanjahu are partners in crime.
Trump himself has collected enough radical "christians" that want to see the loom of Armageddon. He simply does not need Netanjahu to be a warmonger.
The attack on Iran was quite obviously coordinated with Israel, but Trump does Trump things and must be held accountable himself.
Lets see what he comes up with, the next time the Epstein files get too much media attention.
@georgetakei

@georgetakei

As long as the president is not DJT or a Republican and they have the approval of Congress, then they should โ€œcall the shots.โ€

Otherwise, No.
