Yes, I definitely identify more with a system where "sovereignty resides in the people and their elected representatives, as opposed to hereditary monarchy or other forms of absolute personal power." than the US Republican party, which seems more interested in recreating a monarchy / dictatorship.

Somehow, #terminology got scrambled between the two sides of the #Atlantic. In #Europe we interpret some words differently than in the US:
#football (kicking a spherical ball), #liberal (political centre), #libertarian (anarcho-communist), #republican (anti-monarchist), #rubber (eraser), etc.
