If last time you tried @fdroidorg, it looked outdated and was difficult to use, now might be a good moment to give it another go.

The upcoming 2.0 (in alpha release) UI is modern and easy-to-use.

More users non-Google Android apps have, the better future Android will have as a whole.

Support app creators who won't go after your data or cluter everything with predatory in-app-purchase strategies.

Even if you don't care about Open Source, embracing devs here makes your phone better.

@lehtimaeki @fdroidorg downloaded what was there to download, and after installation it looks no different and reports back as 1.23-something, up from 1.20. Where is this "2.0a9" hidden? Not on fdroid.org, or at least not featured or even mentioned.

@the_turtle @fdroidorg

I only have the 2.0alpha installed so not 100% sure this works but worth a try:

Open FDroid in the Fdroid app. Scroll dowm and you should see list of versions (might be in the settings). You should be able to switch an a 20 alpha build.

@lehtimaeki @fdroidorg not on 1.23. Alpha isn't mentioned anywhere. Lemme go looking again.
@lehtimaeki @fdroidorg not on 1.23. Alpha isn't mentioned anywhere. Lemme go looking again. Nope, all the stuff they talk about, like "allow beta updates" does not exist. Kinda amateurish... ask for testers, then hide the fucking update carefully!

You can DL the alpha release APK directly form the website as well. That's probably the easiest way to go:

@lehtimaeki @fdroidorg ex...cellent! Nothing like good ole direct links that work with no fuss. Will install later after I back up the 1.23. Thanks.
