I am checking BoD (Books on Demand) for my comic book print so I could have more diverse means of getting it out (ak.a not just Amazon) but I have a problem with it - they don't support the format size I had made for the book.

So to get it there, I'd need to re-format the cover and the pages. This will take me a while, especially since I need to re-work the hardcover too.

Is this worth it? And is it ok if this takes a while and doesn't hit the Amazon release?

@hiisikoloart

I have little experience with BoD, but they seem to be difficult with customer service. I hope more people will chime in about that.

Do not worry about the book releasing at the same time as Amazon. They will reach different audiences - and it gives you another reason to post about your comic. Win-win.

@Firlefanz
A bunch of finnish authors recommended it to me and said it was easy to use in finnish, and helps you get books to libraries. It is also only Print on Demand service that looks to have good quality, and does that around here. (They have Finland branch)

Thank you for the reassurance. I will work on making new format and cover and see if I could get it out at the same time with the hardcover. (:

@hiisikoloart

That does sound good - and I'm glad you have some recommendations for it.

@Firlefanz @hiisikoloart Your point about different audiences is key.
@hiisikoloart What you need to find out is whether the Finnish branch of BoD will allow you to publish both with them and with Amazon. In Germany, they distribute to Amazon, but want to be your exclusive "publisher", so publishing separately on Amazon would be a problem here.
@Ardeija
Oh damn I need to check that out.
I did out the Amazon KDP on wide distribution so it shouldn't be locked to just them...man if BoD demands that, my plans really get kicked. (=_=(
