OK, WTF? Now Free League *also* has an Elric game, based on Dragonbane which is based on BRP, so it's not completely unlike Stormbringer.

But what does that mean for Goodman's DCC (500 pages of exposition later) version?

I have less than zero interest in a "D&D" adaptation, & DCC's my 2nd least favorite "OSR-adjacent" game (Castles & Crusades is worse).

This is just fucking weird. Just go back to Stormbringer 1st Ed, it's the best.

I'll be going back to the char creation jam tomorrow, I needed a few days off. & obvs, I'll do Stormbringer 1st Ed. See if I can roll up a sorcerer, & summon a demon.

@mdhughes This wish fulfilment is tedious. You are not going to get Stormbringer again. Free League is not Chaosium. Goodman Games is not Chaosium. Actually take pleasure from having Moorcock's settings back in print in RPGs.

It is not 1981.

Give these versions an actual chance.

@pookie I do still have Stormbringer. In my house it is 1970-1999 on a repeating loop, I deny the existence of anything outside that time.

And don't tell me what to like or not like, try or call a soulless cash grab.

@mdhughes So play what you have, but there are plenty who do not have Stormbringer and cannot get Stormbringer. Let them have a chance to explore the setting in roleplaying.

And who is the soulless cash grab by?

Free League Publishing, Goodman Games (whose fans have wanted the Elric licence for years and whose writers are really good at adapting content), or Moorcock licensing his intellectual property out?
