Anyone know how I can check if BS migration worked? It worked on their end and I see the handle but I don't see my old posts/follows on here.

If you just did it, it may take a minute or two to resolve. Old posts federate when interacted with but they should still show on the profile in my experience.

@gabboman for monitoring, others may chime in with their experience of Bluesky migration-in.

Yeah cause it's been a few minutes and it's not really populating on here. Maybe it takes a good while or there's something I'm missing on BS's end. MOOver also tells me "Authentication Required" if I try to run a backup there.

I took a second to review documentation since someone else had this issue a bit ago

If not all of your followers and posts moved with you, you may need to force-sync your accounts. Go back to your settings, and use the button labeled "Enable Bluesky". Enter your password, and click "Enable Bluesky" to force the system to retrieve your posts and followers.

Have you tried this yet?

I try that but it just tells me "There was an error! Contact an admin for this". I know I'm putting my password in right too since failed PW's tell me they're invalid/

Well, there we go, I suppose it's admin involvement time. @admin in case someone is available to help before Gabbo.

The documentation is written based on what we know about people's experiences, but sometimes things get crossed in weird ways. This should be solvable, but you'll need an admin's help for it. Sorry

Hmm ok I think i know what happens i will do stuff in a bit

@[email protected] @[email protected]

are you on the migration page or the activate bsky page, is important to finish the steps into the migrate one

@[email protected] @[email protected]

If so, let me know and i check with you. I will fix my account on irc

@[email protected] @[email protected]

The error is on the enable Blusky page, but before that I went through all five steps, running MOOver, getting an app password, and getting it registered on here. It goes through on Blusky since the handle uses this page but it's not bridging to here. Went in to link it twice for good measure with the same results.

@[email protected] @[email protected]

It has to be done on the migrate one (web version too), so it does all the steps regarding your profile, with an app password
The enable one is for creating an internal bluesky account instead of moving.

I will update the UI and messaging around this, as youre not the first person with this issue and hence is an issue with my design haha

@[email protected] @[email protected]

I've done it on the migrate one too; with each of the steps if that's the page I'm thinking of. Not sure if there's any extra step in there I'm missing, I'm using the app password and it tells me it synchronized it, it also shows the BS handle if I check the blog, but I dunno if I'm missing something else.

I will do something after work. Do new posts created from wafrn federate to bsky? If so, no worries i will take care of the evil magic

@[email protected] @[email protected]

None of the ones i posted here do when I test it, assuming its just posting it by itself. Posting on BS itself with the instanced logged in DOES work at least which is a start, so somethings recognized there.

@[email protected] @[email protected]

found the issue, im gona do some magic

@[email protected] @[email protected]

ok try a new post on wafrn saying "TEST"

Also, if it goes to bsky, go to the ENABLE bluesky page, put your password and that will force a sync of follows

@[email protected] @[email protected]

I'm certainly seeing posts and posting after the sync puts it up on Bluesky, so both of those are huge. Follows also updated too.

@[email protected] @[email protected]

Edge case requires testing, will do after work and my haircut of today. Apologies for the jank, hope you enjoy wafrn!

@[email protected] @[email protected]

No worries.
One more thing im curious on is how 2FA works, since that shows up for both BS's settings and Wafrn. I'll assume the latter works fine but dunno if the former works without breaking anything.

@[email protected] @[email protected]

you can always enable it and if it breaks disable and force enable again

@[email protected] @[email protected]

Turns out that BS doesn't let you set it on their end if you log in with an app password, so that answers that lol. I did notice that the 2fA page here just hung on nothing after trying to set that (Selects "Add new Two Factor Authenticator " but then nothing happens after0 though dunno if it's either my browser or something that'd need to be checked later.

EDIT: Wait, it s in when i check it now, took a lil while but its in there.

As said, apologies on the jank haha.

If you know typescript or angular any help is welcome :D
