Southside-INDY Singing Resistance Songfest · Mobilize

This a local Indivisible event! It is a “Y'all Come” public event being held at Friedens United Church of Christ. Please make sure to enter using the north side door. We will gather in solidarity and spirit with the national Singing Resistance movement that began during the time of ICE operations in Minnesota earlier this year, and is now expanding to cities all across the United States including Indianapolis. Our goal is to practice easy-to-learn group songs for possible use at various resistance and protest locations in our area as called for. Previous singing experience is not necessary. If you have been looking for an opportunity to be heard in this way, THIS IS IT! While there will be no marching, placards, or long speeches at this indoor event, it will still be upbeat and energizing, as we give voice musically to the cherished American tradition of proclaiming “liberty and justice for all.” Come with friends, neighbors, and family members, and help spread this open invitation verbally and/or via your personal media connections. No pre-registration is required. We'll be sitting on folding chairs in a gym, so feel free to bring a more comfortable portable chair if you wish. No food or beverages will be available.
