I watched the first two episodes of From last night and they were good, but seriously marred by literally every character being evil (everyone in the town who let them go around more than twice, in the afternoon!), or obnoxious (the entire family, and the douchebros).

Plus, why didn't the town already have ALL windows permanently sealed?

Surely everyone, especially brother, knew that she was a huge risk.

And they left mom and daughter alone at times?

I tried to like From, but the lack of basic sense and typical human behavior exhibited by most of the characters is off-putting.

The show seems interested in mood, only, rather than coherence and allowing for suspension of disbelief.

Things like the unhealthy sleeping arrangement of a teen with two young adults and no privacy, and the obvious character "reveal" of episode 5 take me out.

I guess this is what's called a mystery box?

@ricardoharvin The Dome, Lost, FROM, all of them... someone approved a pilot, a test group liked it, someone approved a season's budget. And no one ever looked at it. Sunk cost falacy kept viewers, not the script, acting, plot, anything else. And that same sunk cost falacy kept the budget funded. "We spent this much, let's keep it going till the ratings drop."

I remember about Lost that I tried and then gave up after about three episodes. Then I tried again ten episodes later.
The arc of the story was still basically in the same place.
All done me.
@ohmu @ricardoharvin I got to about Ep 3 as well. I made it to Ep 4 on FROM. The Dome I did not make it through Ep 1. All of them so poorly written and so ludicrous that they don't even rank on the level of a B-movie. Either write good scifi or just stfu and let someone new give it a go.

I have a better idea: Give them a three movie reboot of Star Trek!
No? Bad idea. Ok.
I got it. Give them Star Wars, too!
That'll learn 'em.
