The Devil Wears Prada 2 (2026)
I enjoyed The Devil Wears Prada 2 (2026). It was unnecessary to make a sequel to The Devil Wears Prada, but I'm glad that the sequel exists. I was very happy to catch up with the characters after a 20 year break. While this sequel was not as good as the first movie, it was still enjoyable and I'm glad that I saw it on the big bigscreen. The Devil Wears Prada 2 tackles, with a good bit of subtlety, the collapse of print media and how the online replacement is wildly different -- and maybe not in a good way. It also dips its toes into layoffs and the consolidation of business into large conglomorates, though it is not as successful here.
The Miranda character in this sequel was a different character than the one from the first film as she just felt different -- there are brief glimpses of the character traits from the original film, but there are more parts where this Miranda was just different.
The emotional heart of this movie was Stanley Tucci's character Nigel. We all need a Nigel in our lives. His character arc, that continues from the first movie was the one that actually brought tears to my eyes. His relationship with Andy was also heartwarming.
There was a romantic storyline with Andy and a developer that was so thin that I wish they had left it out of the movie.
The ending of the movie was quite predictable.
Rated 7 out of 10.
That's all.
Watched in Cinemark XD at the Oakridge Century 20.
