"Frito Bandito"
I was eating fritos at my post back when I was a guard at the Intel plant. I dropped one and this little fella (a scrub jay) came and scooped it up almost as soon as it was on the ground!
I wasn't too worried since Fritos are basically just corn, oil, and salt so nothing a bird can't digest in small amounts.
(Also if anyone could send my husband and I some Fritos I'd be glad, they're almost impossible to find here).

Scrub jays are extremely pragmatic. That Frito was available, therefore it was theirs. The Intel plant has simply become part of the supply chain.

I watched them for a long time when I was there. They knew when I was around there might be snacks and they would come when the sun was in a certain position (that seems to be their closest concept to time). There was definitely a spark of intelligence in those eyes. A mind with the intelligence of maybe an 8 year old child I'd say. Corvids are amazing.
