Unfortunately the centre has not done the things - reduce inequality, improve accountability & democratic engagement & education - that could prevent this
@corin_ja @vinomadic Yeah. Not that I'd call Starmer's Labour centrist - they've occupied the space the Tories left when they lurched further right.

@ThatNewSound Very much. Two of them (UK-wide so far) have apparently already quit after being elected - not sure that many of them expected to have to do the job they were standing for.

At least Croydon got more Greens than turquoise, which is something.
@SimonLandmine Three greens where I am too, and a green council in my girlfriends borough. likewise, its on them now to put the work in to show us what they would do with the country given the chance. Though, somehow, I'm a lot less concerned about that 😂
