#Argentina has detained 26-year-old #Russian citizen #Dmitry_Novikov, one of the leaders of the extensive #Russian influence network #La_CompañÃa, which operated against state institutions and the government of President #Javier_Milei.
The #La_CompañÃa network, also known as #Lakhta, is coordinated by #Russian intelligence services and had ties to the #Wagner_Group and #Prigozhin. The network participated in disinformation operations across #Latin_America.
According to #Argentina’s Secretariat of Intelligence (#SIDE), Novikov was in the country under illegal immigration status, falsified the reasons for his entry, and posed a threat to national security.
National Security Minister #Alejandra_Monteoliva called him a "leader of the #Russian disinformation network" who arrived to attack state institutions.
