This is a bit dated by now but, yeah, Firefox really did this. The equivalent of Google removing the "Don't be evil" slogan.

@bontchev IANAL, but I guess: Some lawyer saw this and pointed out that this could become a legal liability if someone’s privacy was violated. The sentence before the removed promise seems very broad, far beyond what the headline suggests (not selling data).

Then again, Mozilla has taken some turns which are hard to defend. So maybe it is the equivalent of Google dropping „don’t be evil“.
