I've loaded the unmastered audiobook files on my phone. I need to listen to them to approve them ahead of the narrator finishing & moving on to the mastering/production work.

It's a weird thing to listen to someone else tell the story you spent 6 years writing. Especially if you're not an audiobook person.

@LJ Did the narrator do different voices for different characters? I think that some of the best audiobooks I've ever "read" are ones where each character had a different voice. As long as it's not overdone, of course.

@mlanger yup. Initially it sounded too character specific. She toned it down a bit for better balance between the narrative & characters.

@LJ It shouldn't be distracting, but it is helpful to identify characters speaking without attribution in the text.
