I always like things that look like plain earth tones at first glance but then become almost like a bowl of candy when my eyes adjust to the muted range.

I like wood fired pottery for this effect too.

@Phosphenes oooh, thanks for the comparison with pottery - I also love it and indeeed, now that you mentioned it I realise it's a very similar effect for the colors 😍
