The #AmericanRobin ( #TurdusMigratorius ) is like the #RockPigeon ( #ColumbiaLivia ) of here. That is, in NYC, the pigeons are everywhere, they're on the ground strolling a lot, they're not very worried about humans. And that seems to be the niche they occupy here.

They're gettin' big & chonk, lots of worms about.

As I mentioned before, we heard them all the time in NYC, but rarely saw them. Here in the Midwest they're just everywhere.

I suppose scarcity of pigeons leaves plenty of room for the thriving of the #MourningDove ( #ZenaidaMacroura ). They're both heard and seen.
