The #AmericanRobin ( #TurdusMigratorius ) is like the #RockPigeon ( #ColumbiaLivia ) of here. That is, in NYC, the pigeons are everywhere, they're on the ground strolling a lot, they're not very worried about humans. And that seems to be the niche they occupy here.
They're gettin' big & chonk, lots of worms about.
As I mentioned before, we heard them all the time in NYC, but rarely saw them. Here in the Midwest they're just everywhere.
Three babies!

I was pleased to see an American Robin hopping around in Austin's Hyde Park neighbourhood earlier this afternoon.
A robin was collecting some nesting material in my flowerbed this afternoon. Here she is with a beak full of “mud.”
Mama robin in her urban nest.
It's time to slow down and admire some pretty things. Today: an American Robin taking a bath.
He splashed so much he almost emptied the birdbath.
There’s a robin nesting in the defunct motion detector lights on the back porch. It’s a fancy nest with streamers and ribbons and decorations. Urban bird fanciness.
I'm too pretty for all this shit.
