#LazyMastodon Is there a way to get the Mastodon web client to show alt text when it's displaying the large version of an image or video? I always have to switch back and forth between the large version and the containing post to (a) look at it, (b) read about it.

[Edit] I don't think so, but some apps provide some ways:
Ice Cubes has a button to show the ALT text.
In Mona 6 long press on mobile/right click on desktop shows a popup menu that includes an option to show the description.
Both, unfortunately do that in a popup window, not at the top or at the bottom of the image. Not ideal, No problem! but saves going back to the post to read the image description.
