In varietate concordia [1]

12 stars that mean the world to me. An ongoing experiment to create and maintain a transnational union of different countries, cultures and expectations. Always on the move, full of lessons learned from mistakes made. Far from perfect, but also far from being a failure. A continouous demand on all of us to make things better and to overcome the nay-sayers that focus on problems, not solutions. #ThanksEU

(I am sure the sealioning nay-sayers will soon enter the reply thread. You are welcome. As I said, the EU is far from perfect and there is a lot of work to be done to make it better and to undo mistakes being made. And that's what we all should do. Use our voices and actions to make things better. My life without the EU would be very different. I wouldn't want to go back to that time. But that's just me. Your freedom to oppose me and my optimism β€” that's also part of the EU Charta :)

@jwildeboer I appreciate your post, speaking from the UK I'd have to say to naysayers you don't know what you've got until it is gone.

Yes the EU is flawed, all political instruments are flawed. But it offers more than just cooperation and peace. It keeps national politicians from eroding rights, it is a force that helps keep extremism from undue influence and it offers opportunities that people take for granted until they are no longer there.

@jwildeboer TL:DR Brexit has destroyed the UK made people poorer and lost us rights.
@jwildeboer The most successful peace project in history.
@jwildeboer BTW, does someone here know of a mix of the inclusive rainbow flag and the European flag?
Pride of Europe - Pulse of Europe

Pride of Europe - Equal rights, diversity and solidarity with LGBTI people in Europe and draws attention to discrimination

Pulse of Europe
@jwildeboer Yeah but it’s missing the inclusive part :/
