From my peripheral exposure to how the party operates it seems very permeable these days.
Digital has made politics a lot easier to participate in, but a lot of it still comes down to gathering in a room somewhere, and for the Democratic party a lot of those rooms have open doors, or rather are begging for help and volunteers.
It's a coalition of shared interests, and some competing interests, and it always has been. It can be a vehicle for getting things done, but only with a lot of work hours put into it.
I love focusing on #UnpackingTheCourt as a top priority. We have to come to terms with how the GOP #PackedTheCourt, and its continuing impact. They achieved it over many decades of concerted effort funded by #ConservativeBillionaires.
But it will take decades, so I guess it's about getting people into office at multiple levels to enable us to #ExpandTheCourt.
But like, I am not in love with trusting electeds to appoint good justices. I'd rather everyone involved in the process was promoting good candidates.
I want #CandidateJudges that are respected by other judges,n recommended by other judges. Dedicated professionals who follow the written law and case law, and who put out #judiciable opinions.
Trump has appointed the incompetent at every level, and done mass lay offs of competent non partisans.
