Exactly. People complain that the Democratic party is too beatable, disorganized etc to get get things done and win elections. But if so, it is just as beatable from within. From my peripheral exposure to how the party operates it seems very permeable these days.
Digital has made politics a lot easier to participate in, but a lot of it still comes down to gathering in a room somewhere, and for the Democratic party a lot of those rooms have open doors, or rather are begging for help and volunteers.
It's a coalition of shared interests, and some competing interests, and it always has been. It can be a vehicle for getting things done, but only with a lot of work hours put into it.
I love focusing on #UnpackingTheCourt as a top priority. We have to come to terms with how the GOP #PackedTheCourt, and its continuing impact. They achieved it over many decades of concerted effort funded by #ConservativeBillionaires.
But it will take decades, so I guess it's about getting people into office at multiple levels to enable us to #ExpandTheCourt. But like, I am not in love with trusting electeds to appoint good justices. I'd rather everyone involved in the process was promoting good candidates.
I want #CandidateJudges that are respected by other judges,n recommended by other judges. Dedicated professionals who follow the written law and case law, and who put out #judiciable opinions. Trump has appointed the incompetent at every level, and done mass lay offs of competent non partisans.
