I have a 2018 #Dell #laptop that came with a 130W brick. It has a ThunderPort-C that allows charging, but when I connect it to my 27" Dell screen it doesn't charge.

Until yesterday, when it spent the whole day happily charging from it.

But then I accidentally hibernated it, and when it came back, the firmware complained that the screen was giving only 65W, that 130W was recommended, and wouldn't charge from it at all again.

Would anyone have the tiniest idea WTF is with all this?

@mdione what is the power rating of the cable between the monitor and laptop?
@gspeed0689 I have no idea, it's the one that came with the monitor. How can I find out?

@mdione It should say in the manual, but otherwise unless its directly marked it seems impossible to figure out.

There are special tools that will decode the capabilities, but idk about Thunderbolt support
