Certainly interesting.

"The Open Social Awards celebrate technology that makes the social internet work for everyone. We believe the future of open social will be strongest when it’s shaped by people from a wide range of backgrounds, perspectives, and lived experiences."

They're looking for projects that launched in the last 3 years, and winners will receive 1x€10k/2x€5k.

The awards aim to recognize and celebrate the breakthrough products of developers building on open protocols such as ATProtocol and ActivityPub.

Sharing this mainly as funding the work in the fediverse is a big challenge. It would be nice to see someone here to take a shot at this.

Also, nice to see so many familiar faces from our community on the jury board!

@stefan are you applying?

@evan I wasn't really going to, I think my own contributions very much pale in comparison with what others have done.

But since you asked, I thought, what the heck, maybe I can submit https://jointhefediverse.net?

I don't know if it will exactly "catapult ordinary people into the future of open social"...but it's a neat little site? And it demonstrates the global and cooperative nature of the fediverse.

One small hitch. I wonder how strict they are about the launch being within the last three years.

The site went live 3 years and 4 days ago.

Oh. Speaking of which!
