Today was my one day off in a stretch of working 38 of 39 days, so I've been as lazy as possible. Slept late, awoke to overcast sky and rain forecast. So I went out and did my hour of street corner protesting right away. Mostly just cars driving past with no reaction today. But the security guard at the bank across the street nodded and waved when he came out on a break, and so did some road work guys filling potholes.

Glad I went out early, because the chilly daylong drizzle began as soon as I packed up my sign to leave. The rain is clammy and yucky for humans outdoors, but welcome to the plants. The wet grass is such a brilliant green, and the view up the street is an overhead haze of new green leaves. I've got some new library books, so I've spent the afternoon curled up with a warm afghan, some relaxing music, and a book, while the rain drums on the windows.

Back to work tomorrow.
