Got our Atto 2! First order of business: Integrate with HASS.

Unfortunately I can't connect to the car directly, it's gotta go via BYD's cloud. Also the phone app boots me off once the HASS integration connects.

@tj make another account in the BYD app and use that for the HASS side

"Authorized User" I think it's called? We added two, one for HASS and one for my phone. That way both my partner and me can use the app but also HASS without booting either of us off.

@tj got the #byd 3 years ago and there was zero integrations, closed ecosystem, lease is done.
Great to see that people managed to get byd #homeassisitant afterall... kinda the reverse of what #BMW did to us.

@seeder Looking at the source of pyBYD it looks like BYD didn't make it easy. Lots of hand-rolled security-through-obscurity nonsense. Seems to work though!
