Morning Mastodonians!

So something happened here yesterday that I don’t believe has ever happened before. While I headed off to the office, the ladies of the household slept in! I have always worked from home and rarely go into the office. Heck, I’ve rarely had an office to go into! My wife worked from home, while R (off for April vacation) and A (mental health day after some of the animals she works with were euthanized) slept in. I was only away until lunch, but still, it was very odd.

I did take the dogs for a walk, but the weather has been very discouraging. On the days when it isn’t cold and cloudy, it is cold, sunny, and windy. Even on the days where it gets over 60°F (15.5°C), the wind is blowing off the ocean, and it is quite chilly, a price we pay for living near the ocean. It can be 20° warmer just a few miles inland from here. So I’m never sure how bundled up to get when I walk them.
#Today is going to be a busy one, which is never desired on a Friday. We need to do grocery shopping. I need to take the car to the autobody shop because someone clipped it last night while we were in the restaurant. But remarkably, they even left a note. It’s just a minor scrape, but still annoying. Then we’re meeting friends for a wine tasting and dinner afterward. Shockingly, it is a 9 PM reservation. I hope they don’t mind me falling asleep in my soup.
It’s been a busy but satisfying week in the #SaltMine. I have had some interesting projects to work on, and a friend started work this week, too. I think he will enjoy STR. I even got to do one of my favorite things: closely examine and critique C++ code. I actually enjoy waiting through warnings and seeing how appropriate they are. I love reading code almost as much as I love writing it.
