I had been tempted by MacBook Neo when it was released even though my M2 MacBook Air is just fine. Then I thought about how I’d probably miss Touch ID a lot, but I’d say the success rate of that lately is 30% at best. Do fingerprints start to fade after age 50 or something? 🫆

@purplelime I don’t know about fading, but other changes in the skin as we age absolutely affect the success rate on Touch ID.

Karen’s mom (mid-70’s) clung to a Touch ID phone for way too long and it got to the point where it worked maybe 10% of the time.

So glad she uses Face ID now.

@purplelime @purplelime Also, your M2 MacBook Air (same thing I’m rocking for my personal Mac) is still a better machine overall than the Neo.
@chrisdejabet you’re right, I checked the comparison chart but I think Apple marketing, as ever, just tries to chip away at your resolve!
