@Vired Yes, “all men” as a statement is neither good communication nor a functioning tactic in the fight against patriarchy. I suppose the toot is aimed at people who react with “not all men!” when confronted with facts like that violence against women is more common than violence against men and that violence against women is primarily perpetrated by men.

@Vired @jeffowski Fundamentally I think that identifying with groups that I belong to but didn't choose myself is not a good way of thinking. But recently I understood that doing exactly that is a necessity for women – they don't have a choice. Without identifying as women they can't organize to improve their situation. It's unfortunate because by forming groups you always exclude others.
