I suppose there's some irony in seeing #Science promoting #Patents, which have no scientific evidence that they work (to promote wide distribution of innovation). It's old-school hierarchy, like Divine Rights of Kings, Slavery, or State Religion, whose main goal is to consolidate personal power.

Like so many traditions we have today, the root causes of why we have them are always covered up w/ sugar-coated BS because the real reasons are #sociopath driven, benefitting only the few elitists who promote such ideas. The "Too Big to Fail" moment, in 1958 <snip> ideas.repec.org/a/aea/jecper...
