@hcsch f*2*? what sort of fuckass bios are *you* running? :P
@GroupNebula563 @hcsch F2 and DEL as valid keys are actually pretty common! I'd say even more common than F1 nowadays
@snep @hcsch DEL I’m aware of, never seen F2 before though :P
@hcsch If F2 feels wrong, you are old.

@hcsch the real move is to spam F2, F10, F12, and Del with your hands kind of stretched to their limits.

Only to remember it's an HP bios and it's actually F9

@hp @hcsch Or an ancient Toshiba BIOS that uses CTRL+F1 >:[

@Kroc @hp @hcsch As long as it's not a combo that uses Fn and only works with either FnLock enabled or disabled 🥲

Or ESC, which cancels the boot menu if pressed twice and buffers multiple key hits until the menu is open...

@hcsch keyboard not detected. press f1 to continue
@hcsch The most evil BIOS I used required you to press the key exactly once. More than that and it was a keyboard error after which it was no longer possible to enter the BIOS settings without resetting the computer and trying your luck again. The same may also have happened if you pressed the key too early (I can't remember). At least once the BIOS printed "entering setup..." for a split second and still didn't go there. It didn't help that my screen at the time was also slow to wake up.
