#DearLazyWeb: this is a bit of an unusual request, but I'm trying to find more information on the technical logistics of resistance tunnel building, from Vietnam, to Syria, to Gaza. There have been a bunch of videos on tunnel warfare, and including a lot of info about the US preparing for tunnel war.

I've been #writing some near-future #fiction and I'd like to include some of this, and I like to have depth of knowledge for realism.

So any military history geeks out there have any leads?

@Hex Hi. Dont know what are you really trying to do with such info and what depth required. But for some first relatively serious approaching of the tunnel war theme in a modern warfare framework - I d recommend Civ div youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/@CivDiv War vet and a big specialist on tunnel warfare. As far as i know -he lived several years in Kurdish tunnel system (YPG) under frequent bombardments from Turkey. Then Kurdish tunnel system in Iraq, and then "blindages" in Ukraine - so a lot of material.

@KCKane137 awesome, thanks. This is actually part of what brings up the topic. I watch CivDiv on occasion and one of his videos talked about this. I bet that the information I'm looking for is spread through a bunch of his videos, but I'm hoping for a more concentrated, dense, and subject focused.

I want to get into technical details, like "what tools are needed," "how do you deal with stale air," "how and when do tunnels need to be reinforced against cave ons?" Bits of minutia can give a lot of depth, like talking about the feel of a jack hammer or a cave in or something. I just don't feel like I have enough info to throw that in and that's what I'm looking for.
