@ellenor2000 did you have some Night light automatic mode ON? In Ubuntu Settings > Displays > Night Light and set the schedule to "Sunset to Sunrise". My Lenovo flicked with this option active.

That's not the problem, and you should feel bad for even thinking in that.

The problem is that the screen itself, the backlight drops out. This only happens, as far as I know, when the CPU drops into C6. Hacking off C6 is not the solution. #lang_en

@ellenor2000 I'm far of feeling bad trying to help. I have this mingle problem with the Night mode, so I point you a possible cause.
