@Byrnejmf I agree it is a disgrace. However, a windfall tax on the fossil industry without price controls would only mean we’d be taxing ourselves because they’d just raise prices to cover the tax. Better use of our public efforts would be building things at home that reduce or eliminate our oil consumption IMO.
