@thegiddystitcher you making sticks of rock?
@Erased_Citizen Now that sounds like a fun activity to try... πŸ€”

@thegiddystitcher

I just had a serious flashback to elementary school. Total "Wow! Haven't thought of that thing in decades!" Thanks!

@Uair Oh that's fun! We never did anything like this, although whether I could've been trusted to operate a sharp hook I don't know :D

@thegiddystitcher

I don't think I got it in actual school, it was just something I did once in my free time. I used to be crafty like that, but usually abandoned after mastering something. I liked learning how. Those are very, very easy, IIRC.

@Uair Certainly seems to be, so far. Which is no bad thing when you just want to relax!

My craft of choice as a kid was always origami, possibly because paper was "free" and even at that age I was already very cheap πŸ˜†

@thegiddystitcher @crafters oooh this looks like it could go in my collection of hobbies too!! 😲😲

@AutisticDoctorStruggles It seems very simple and chill so far, which is sometimes exactly what we all need.

Absolutely no idea what to use the finished piece for though but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

@thegiddystitcher yes for sure! I cycle through projects and techniques exactly based on how much bandwidth I have. Haha, fair! I saw some mossy designs, would be fun decor around the house!!

@thegiddystitcher @crafters !!!

I love latch hook!!!
So much fun!!

@Alien_Sunset It does seem to be! Do you know why the bits of yarn are bundled so chaotically? That took me by surprise
@thegiddystitcher No idea, in the kits I’ve done they were all seperated by color
@Alien_Sunset That would make so much more sense!

@thegiddystitcher @crafters

Oh the memories.

Back in the 80ies I made some of those.

The 1980ies, just in case anyone wonders. πŸ˜‰

What's this craft called in English?

@FanCityKnits It's "latch hook", or possibly "latch hooking", as you can tell I am a total expert on the subject πŸ˜…
@thegiddystitcher @crafters I haven't seen a latch hook like that. Mine has a bulb shaped handle. I've only done part of one, but I read that Moe Howard, of the Three Stooges, enjoyed making them.
@AdamOnza It's the only hook I've ever seen, so no idea if it's weird or not! This is just a cheapy beginner kit, though, so presumably it's whatever can be bought in bulk πŸ˜
