Darrell Hilliker 👨🦯♾️📡I often have to almost literally bite my tongue when I am attending these meetings where people are asking for workarounds that would enable them to continue leaving out #disabled people. The answer is “no.” #ADA passed in 1990. First #WCAG published in 1998. Now the time for ignoring our #accessibility rights must stop.
@darrell73 I am so tired of faculty my age who start out meetings with “This is so SUDDEN, why don’t we have more time?” I’ve been at least trying to use accessible practices since 2002. The way some folks have been deliberately ignoring accessibility for 20+ years makes me want to throw things.
cobalt@darrell73 I used to give presentations on disabilities and accommodations. Sometimes the government employees who had me come would invite community folks who wanted to know how to avoid providing AT and accessibility methods. Some though did care and would do the right things.
