I want to give you a small preview of the next feature release for #Bikerouter today:

There will be a built-in route manager where you can manage your planned routes.

This feature breaks with Bikerouter’s “everything lives in the browser” paradigm: routes will be stored on Bikerouter’s servers, and a user account will be required.

However, this is designed in a privacy-friendly way and does not require an email address or other personal information. The feature is also optional and can simply be ignored if you’re not interested.

I’ll gradually share more details, but for now, here’s just a screenshot (which may differ from the final released version as there’s still a lot in flux).

The currently planned route can be saved at any time in the new Route Manager of #Bikerouter.

You can use a folder structure to organize your routes and routes can be moved freely between folders at any time.

All parameters of the planned route are stored, so it can be restored at any time. Custom/adjusted routing profiles are also supported!

A route can have a name and an optional description, both of which are searchable.

@bikerouter
Ok, let´s get serious; now we have a user profile, we got folders and structures.
I plan an big 2000km muiltiday holiday route, i´m done and happy with it... but:
A feature to split this big beautifull multiday route (SNCR) into multiple day tracks for my navigation and storing them thogether with the untouched orignial route in the folder.. just dreaming? 😎

@f_md1 Splitting routes at waypoints is already possible, so you can achieve this, even if it might not be exactly what you described.

Workflow would be: plan route → split at first stage destination (“Split route to here”) → now you've got your first stage as separate route → save route.
