Fragile Lifelines
In 2025, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) estimated that there were 30.5 million people worldwide classified as refugees or who found themselves in a refugee-like situation.[1] In the same report, however, the broader category of those who had “fled from home” encompassed 117.3 million people.
