Ten days until I land in France. With my dog.

For a year!

@roknrol Nice!

What kind of dog?

@CStamp American Eskimo, which used to be called German Spitz. Not sure which is more racist.

She was rescued from a really bad environment and adopted me straightaway...I'm hoping the peace in France will be good for her.

@roknrol Cute. Small enough to travel under your seat?

She must’ve missed you when you were away the last time.

Will this year allow you time to make it longer?

@CStamp No for under the seat, which has made this whole thing suck. She'll be on a cargo plane for 12 hours.

I'm hoping to manage a student visa this winter, otherwise I should be able to extend for at least one more year.

@roknrol Ugh. Long time for both of you to be on a flight. Hopefully she’ll sleep through most of it. I take it your house has been all set up so it’s ready to welcome you. :)

I hope it’s a lovely spring.

@CStamp Well, it's how I left it (hopefully). My friends there have been pinging me for the last week wondering when I'm back, which is nice. I'm usually not very missed lol

She's a really easy dog though..she doesn't run off, so it will give me time to get the yard in better shape for the Malmute (who will absolutely run off).

The only really suck thing is that after the long flight, I have like a five hour drive. She's going to be an unhappy girl for at least a day, but for half of it she'll be with me, so maybe it won't be so bad for her.

@roknrol Sounds like you have nice neighbours.

Is the Malmute a dog you have there?

Long drive after the flight, but I imagine you’ll be in great spirits being back and your fog will be beside herself just to have you back. :)

@CStamp Yes, my neighbors are so nice and I can't help looking over my shoulder waiting for the other shoe to drop. It's really really hard to trust.

The malamute is my other dog who is expected to come "in the future". My wife is planning on bringing him when she finally makes it back over, but I have no idea when that might take place.

Pic to follow...need to move to my phone.

@roknrol Enjoy the friendship in the moment. Sounds wonderful.

I hope you get your other dog sooner than later. :)

@CStamp I'm hoping it'll be sometime this year. That's how my wife is talking, at any rate. It's hard though, because she always shows more interest when I'm around because I serve as a reminder...as soon as I'm not in the house, her ADHD takes over and she forgets I exist.

@CStamp I will be very unhappy if people do not read the #AltTxt

I worked very hard on it.

@roknrol Cute collection of dogs. It seems there are many chihuahua mixes. My niece has a chug - pug + chihuahua. :) (yes, I read your alt text. :) )

It must be a busy household with 4.

The malamute is beautiful. Does it have different coloured eyes or is it just the camera angle?

@CStamp Yes, he has bicolored eyes, but they are a little odd. One eye is bright blue, the other is about 2/3 brown, with one edge of it blue. He's the only one we didn't get from a shelter - because we intercepted the owner in advance.
@roknrol He’s very handsome. :)
@roknrol Krystal seems right on the border of being able to be on a plane with her human. My niece chose her chug because it was under 20lbs, so could easily travel with her. I think she is 16lbs.

@CStamp She has to be able to fit in a kennel that fits under the seat (unless she's a service dog, which she is not). This might be related to the flight being international, but hard to say.

Mongo would be able to travel under the seat, or a cat could, but Krystal is just big enough; she wouldn't be able to stand up or turn around or anything.

She'll be ok...we'll get her some CBD treats or something before she gets on the plane which should help. IF she'll eat them...she's finicky, especially if she thinks something is about to happen that she won't like.
